Independence day in Tirana

Greetings from Tirana.. We left home today and came to our capital city to take part at the national celebration. Now I'm at this bar (waiting for Rita Ora to come) that has wireless too, so I can share some of the photos I made this morning.. I'm sharing them from my mum's Iphone 4 whose batery is almost dying..
We are so tired, we've been walking all day long to different places and we are still shocked from the vandalism we've seen.. Imagine, all Albanians are gathered here in Tirana and there obviously isn't enough room for each of us.. I regret not getting the chance to try the tart, I heard it tasted like pomegranate :/
However, these are my photos, I was wearing vintage clothes (the shirt and jacket belonged to my grandmother :) )
While my necklace is one of my latest DIYs, I'm sharing its tutorial the next day!
Stay tuned (:

Shqipëria ime

It all started as a simple photography contest in our school based on the 100th anniversary of independence in Albania. Me and my friends were feeling guilty because we hadn't participated in any other contest that had been already held, such as the drawing or the best essay ones, so we decided to give it a shot.
We spend a whole day thinking what we could do but finally one of us came up with the idea of making a photo from up high were the students would be creating different shapes from down there. Certainly, we all agreed and we were really excited for it. At first we thought of using students to write sentences such as "100 vjet pavarsi" or "100 vjet shtet" that can be translated as "100 years of independence" and "100 years of state".. But that would require a great number of people and we couldn't find them within two days. Having no other choice we agreed to make the symbol of independence (in case you don't know it, here's a photo of it).

40 shades of green

I've always wanted to have my own blog but for some reasons I never did, until now.. I finally took the courage and I opened it, I guess it was about time.
I named it "the pomegranate's blog" since the corresponding word for pomegranate in albanian is shegë, which used to be my nickname long time ago because it's very similar to my real name, Hega.
This is actually my very first post and it's about some photos I shot with my friends this weekend at our central park.
I'm crossing my fingers, hoping you will like it.
